We open proceedings with a match against Old Bloxhamists on Sunday 25th August, re-enacting our very first competitive match as Banbury RUFC 100 years ago! This will be a very special occasion as it will mark the start of our centenary celebrations. We are planning an exciting day, designed to offer something for everyone, and fully embracing our ethos of #OneClub. We are planning ‘curtain-raiser’ matches prior to the main event and there will also be fairground rides, inflatables, food stalls, live music, and other activities designed to make for a proper family day. As it is a Bank Holiday weekend, we hope to be bathed in sunshine entry will be free to Members.

The match between the Banbury President’s XV and the Old Bloxhamists will be the main focus of the afternoon and we will be launching our new all-white 2024-25 centenary season shirt, replicating that worn for our inaugural match in 1925.

There will also be a range of Spectator merchandise available, especially created to commemorate the first match, this will be available both on the day (although this may be limited) and on the website as soon as it launches. All of the will be created in limited numbers so you will need to get in quickly.
