Banbury U13’s vs Brackley U13’s - Final score 35:15
On a bright, cold morning, Banbury kicked off and there was a knock on from Brackley’s left winger. Banbury won the scrum. A few minutes later the first try was scored by Banbury’s Callum. Then about 5 minutes later there was an amazing kick by Aidan over the top of two Brackley player’s heads, leaving Banbury’s right winger to catch and score with Talan’s try.
There was an awesome break with the visitor’s Charlie bashing through 3 home players and scoring for Brackley.
Then 5 metres out the Banbury forward set up a pod and pushed through the Brackley line with Perky scoring a try with a good shove from Darragh.
Brackley’s Charlie made a second break leading to another try bringing the score to 15:10.
Then Filip received an amazing pass from Archie and scored the 6th try of the match for Banbury. This marked half time with Banbury in a tense lead against a well-matched opposition.
The second half kicked off with an amazing catch from Banbury. Callum later received the ball on his left and dodged his way past two defenders. Then Riven ran a hard, straight line towards the try line and scored.
On the right wing Archie made an impressive break and Brackley’s Charlie took him out with a really good tackle 5m from the try line. Brackley’s Luke smashed his way through Archie half way down the pitch and ran and scored for Brackley’s third and last try.
Another impacting tackle from Rambo on Riven set Banbury on the back-foot. Riven however made another break and scored a final 7th winning try for Banbury.
There were 10 hard-won tries in total. Well-played everyone! Banbury won but both teams put out an amazing performance of tackles, attacking movements and forward power.
Brackley’s man of the match went to the well-deserving Charlie.
Banbury’s highest scorer Callum was pipped to the post by Brackley’s coach awarding Aidan with a well-earned man of the match for Banbury.
A sociable and pleasant game with friendly parents on both sides chatting after the game. We look forward to hopefully being invited to Brackley next year and to making it a regular derby!
