Banbury made the trip to West Oxfordshire in the sun for the first of two fixtures in three weeks against Witney. With a number of players unavailable due to the half-term holidays, both teams could only field 16 players in their squads. A much changed Banbury line-up saw Max Blinkhorn move from the backs to play flanker within a re-jigged forward pack.

The pre-match warm-up didn't bode well, with the ball ending up on the floor far more regularly than the coaches would have liked. However, once the match started, possession and territory was all Banbury. The first half was mainly spent in the Witney half with Banbury crossing the line 7 times in the first 30 minutes through Conner Capell, Cian Gerber (2), Charles Howard (2), Henry Bailey and Ollie Cook, with Cian Gerber adding 4 conversions to make the half-timer score 43 - 0 to the visitors.

Witney enjoyed more possession and territory in the second half. A series of infringements by Banbury saw the hosts launch a sustained attack on the Banbury line but the defence held firm and turn defence into attack. Charlie Cranley, Jamoy Barrell and Conner Capell with his second score of the match added 3 more tries to the Banbury tally with Cian Gerber adding a conversion and Felix Sissons-Roffey drop-kicking a conversion with the final kick of the match to make the final score 62 - 0 to Banbury.

A good day for the Under 15s with plenty still to work on in training before these two teams meet in the County Cup competition in two weeks at Banbury.
