After last season's even encounters between the two sides, Banbury were looking forward to getting back to winning ways at Bodicote Park after struggling the previous week on the road to Droitwich.
However a well-drilled and fully committed Leamington side rolled into Banbury and put the home side to the sword in a comprehensive 45-3 victory.
Banbury found themselves having the best of the opening 5 minutes and went into a 3-0 lead courtesty of an Andrew Joubert penalty. However this was to be the high point of the game from a Bulls perspective as the wheels fell off for the home side.
Leamington's forwards were simply too much for the Banbury pack, and it was this strong platform that was to deny Banbury much in the way of possession.
The visitors were to score 4 first half tries all on the back of their forwards domination and Banbury were 24-3 down at half-time.
Things were to only get worse for the Bulls in the second half, as their struggle for possession and territory proved fruitless. Leamington piled on the misery with a further 3 tries leaving Banbury dazed and defeated.
A break from league action this Saturday sees Banbury take on Bugbrooke in the 3rd round of the the Intermediate Cup, kick off 2:15pm.
