Bulls Finish in Style with Five-Star Finale

Banbury RUFC signed off their season in sensational fashion with a stunning 55–20 victory over Bromsgrove at the Graf UK Stadium, producing one of their finest attacking displays of the campaign.

The visitors struck first after a sluggish opening from the Bulls, crossing for an early converted try to silence the home crowd. Banbury’s response was immediate and emphatic. A beautifully worked backs move saw Regan Botham release Max Benson through a gap, with Ollie Nicholl converting to level the scores.

Bromsgrove briefly edged back ahead through penalties, but Banbury began to find rhythm and tempo. Joe Mills restored the lead after a deliberate knock-on from the visitors ricocheted kindly into his hands for an easy finish, with the infringement also resulting in a yellow card. Nicholl and Bromsgrove exchanged penalties before the Bulls went into the break narrowly ahead.

Half-time: Banbury 17–13 Bromsgrove

The second half belonged entirely to Banbury.

Nicholl extended the advantage early with another penalty before Immanuel Setiu-Togia sparked a brilliant attacking move, breaking the line and putting the defence on the back foot. Joe Mills drew the final defender perfectly to send Regan Botham over for a superb team try.

Although Bromsgrove briefly responded with a well-worked blindside score, the momentum never truly shifted. A yellow card for repeated offside offences opened the door further for the Bulls, and they took full advantage.

Zach Garrett powered over from the back of a rolling maul before Quinten Blythe capitalised on a loose ball inside the Banbury half, scooping it up and sprinting half the length of the pitch for a trademark solo try.

The tries kept coming. Jonny Sealey capped an excellent individual performance after a clever show-and-go from Botham, before Charlie Cranley rounded things off with the try of the afternoon. George Compton-Alway’s relentless carry set the platform, and once the ball was recycled, Cranley glided effortlessly through the defence to score.

Nicholl’s flawless kicking from the tee ensured the scoreboard reflected Banbury’s dominance as the Bulls ran out emphatic winners.

Full-time: Banbury 55–20 Bromsgrove

A complete performance from 1–18 saw Banbury close the season in style, combining powerful forward play with ruthless attacking rugby. A fitting way to finish the campaign and a huge thank you to the supporters who backed the Bulls every step of the way as the club’s “16th man.”
