A large travelling Buckingham side, who ply their trade in South West 1 East, were the visitors for Banbury's opening match of the 2010/11 season.
Playing four quarters of 20 minutes and with rolling subs this was very much set up as a preseason match. Despite a strong wind blowing down the pitch the skills shown by both teams were of a good standard this early in the season.
Whilst both sides will have much to take and much to learn from the game it was the Bulls who came out on top. Having ridden out determined first half pressure to be trailing just 14-5 at half time, the Bulls went on to score four second-half tries and come out winners 31-19.
Scores for Banbury came from Simon Brand, Ian Isham, Andrew Lace, Sean Bannister and Sam Boyle, with Mike Smith on target with 3 conversions.
Banbury continue their build-up to their first Midlands 1 West fixture away to Walsall with a full club fixture away to Effingham and Leatherhead.
