Banbury RUFC is delighted to congratulate Sonny Goode, who has signed with Northampton Saints and will join the club’s Senior Academy set-up for the 2026/27 season.
Sonny, who has been part of the Saints Academy since 2020, has continued to impress throughout his development pathway and now takes the next step in his rugby journey with the men in Black, Green and Gold.
A talented and versatile back, Sonny has played across the backline during his Academy career before settling at scrum-half. His ability to read the game, react to what is in front of him and bring energy to the field has been highlighted as one of his key strengths.
Sonny first picked up a rugby ball at the age of four and has gone on to captain Saints in the Academy League on multiple occasions, as well as representing England at Under-18 level.
His signing is a proud moment for Sonny, his family and everyone connected with Banbury RUFC.
The club is always proud to see players from the local rugby community progress through the pathway and earn opportunities at the highest level of the game. Sonny’s achievement is a reflection of his hard work, commitment and talent, and we look forward to following his continued development with Northampton Saints.
Everyone at Banbury RUFC wishes Sonny all the very best as he takes this exciting next step.
