Banbury RUFC are pleased to confirm the appointment of Alex Norton as Chair of Minis and Juniors, taking on a key role within the club’s thriving youth section.

Alex joined Banbury RUFC in 2022 and began coaching within the minis section in 2023. Since then he has developed a strong understanding of the club’s minis and juniors environment and the important role it plays in the wider Banbury rugby community.

As Chair of Minis and Juniors, Alex will work closely with coaches, volunteers and the senior rugby leadership team to help strengthen pathways across all age groups. The aim is to ensure young players continue to benefit from everything grassroots rugby has to offer.

Speaking about the role, Alex said:

“I joined the club in 2022 and began coaching in the minis in 2023. This has given me first hand experience of the environment of the minis and juniors section.

I’m excited about the development of this role, strengthening pathways across all age groups and helping shape a section that allows players to benefit from all of the positives of grassroots rugby.”

Banbury RUFC has one of the largest youth sections in the region, with players from across Oxfordshire and surrounding areas taking part in the club’s Minis and Juniors programme every Sunday.

Alex’s appointment forms part of the club’s continued commitment to developing a strong player pathway, supporting young players as they progress through the age grades and into senior rugby at Banbury.

The club looks forward to working with Alex as the Minis and Juniors section continues to grow and develop in the seasons ahead.
