Banbury Rugby Union Football Club is proud to announce the launch of our Christmas Food Bank & Toy Donation Drive 2025, delivered in partnership with Allsafe Scaffolding, Banbury Foodbank, and the Horton General Hospital Children’s Ward.

Running from 1st – 20th December 2025, the initiative aims to bring festive cheer to families and children in need across Banbury during what can be a challenging time of year for many.

This year’s appeal forms part of a wider club effort to support our local community, culminating on Saturday 20th December at the Club’s annual Christmas Lunch, kindly sponsored by Allsafe Scaffolding.

Donation Station Open All December
A dedicated Donation Station will be set up inside the clubhouse for the full duration of the appeal.

Organised by Charlotte Boland, Commercial & Sales Manager at Allsafe Scaffolding, the station will be accessible whenever the club is open throughout December, giving players, supporters, families, visiting teams, and the wider Banbury community plenty of opportunity to contribute.

After the final push on the 20th, donations will be collected and transported by van for delivery to both Banbury Foodbank and the Horton General Hospital Children’s Ward first thing on Monday 22nd December.

What We’re Collecting
Food Donations for Banbury Foodbank
Local families rely heavily on the Foodbank over the winter period, and the following items are especially appreciated:

Tinned goods (fruit, vegetables, fish, meat)
Long-life milk or juice
Coffee
Biscuits
Other non-perishable essentials

Toys for Horton Hospital Children’s Ward
Gifts are particularly needed for children aged 7–9 and 11+, though all age-appropriate toys are welcome.
Ideal donations include:

LEGO
Play-Doh
Pens, pencils & colouring books
Board & card games
Other new toys suitable for a hospital environment

Please note: all toys must be new and unopened for infection-control reasons.

Spreading the Word
To help maximise engagement, flyers will be on display throughout the clubhouse, and the TV screens will have promotional slides up with all the important information you will need to get involved.

As we progress throughout the month, materials will be refreshed every couple of weeks, with occasional focus on specific priority items to maintain visibility and momentum throughout the collection period.
