MESSAGE FROM THE CLUB PRESIDENT (in 1999)

There has been massive change in Banbury Rugby Club since the Golden Jubilee Year Book was produced in 1975. Not only have we been introduced to League rugby but we have also moved grounds to our magnificent facilities at Bodicote Park. We are the envy of many larger clubs and we should be grateful to all those whose time and effort went into bringing about the successful relocation.

It is my honour to be President in this our 75th year of existence and I join with all our members in looking forward to another successful year of rugby to build on the successes of recent years, so ably documented in this book.

It is my pleasure to thanks Norman Lacey for the enormous amount of hard work he has put in to producing the story of the last 25 years which blends so well onto the first 50 years history. He has received help from several people in researching the seasons and collecting photographs but the main work has been his.

We can now look forward to further successful years, to achieveing our aim of National League rugby and to continuing to develop the club as a whole.
