Improving every day

So this week saw the start of our traditional wet and windy Sunday mornings ☔ it didn't however dampen down the spirits of the Under 9s.

With a great turnout of children the coaches soon got them warming up. With a run round the pitch the children then went in to "knee boxing" and a game of union jack's.

There was a quick juice stop before they started some more tackle training. The coaches split the children in to three separate group's. They rotated around the drills which consisted of one on one tackling, a quick double tackle and then hitting the pads, driving and presenting the ball.

All the children then come together, and were split this time in to four teams and the matches commenced. Considering the children have only been doing contact rugby for 3 weeks there were some very impressive performances from all of them.

With all of the children doing so well it made choosing a player of the day very tricky. However Archie was the winner with some fantastic runs. This year there isn't a trophy for player of the week, the children are now being given some green laces. This is all part of the Quilter Kids First initiative to install all of rugby's core values. We can't wait to see them being displayed in your boots on Sunday.

Well done to all the children, you are doing amazing ?

Sunday 6th see's the Under 9s going to Old Leamingtonians for the first festival of the season.
