The weather just keeps getting better! Well, it couldn’t get any worse could it. Unfortunately though, there are side effects. Despite joking about it last week, I forgot the sun cream, so my head is now the same colour as my new coaching top!! Cold, wet mornings I can handle, sunshine gets me every time :-(
We took 3 teams over to Bicester so that everyone could get plenty of game time. There was some really good rugby played during the morning and some pretty tired legs by the end of it. There were a few areas we need to work on, but that’s insignificant in comparison to the enthusiasm and determination shown by all the players. As Nicole put it “the kids played their socks off”.
The icing on the cake has to be that one of our teams made it to the final and put on a splendid display in a really close and hard fought contest against Chipping Norton. It could have gone either way, and so nearly did but Chippy finally took the win 7-6. En-route to the final, the Banbury team had only lost once - to one of the other Banbury teams!
There was so much rugby (19 games played, plus the 9 we refereed!) it’s impossible to remember it all, let alone attempt to analyse it. Luckily Mark (Tolly’s dad) has once again provided some excellent pictures that tell the story of the day. You’ll need to login but you can view the pictures by following this link : Bicester B festival - U7s
You can just see in their faces how much fun everyone was having and that’s what it’s all about.

So, back to training on Sunday, then it’s the country festival at Witney which will be another action packed day of rugby.
