The boys travelled down to Reading Abbey RFC to take part in London Irish’s Land Rover Cup Festival and made it four tournament wins out of four for the season. Drawn in in a tough group with Chinnor, Overton, Oxford and Newbury, they managed wins in all four games before facing the hosts in the semi final.
Now playing on bigger pitches, Banbury’s expansive game began to click and a 30-5 win saw them progress through to their second Land Rover Cup Final of the season. Despite being a couple of players down for this tournament and now missing Toby at fly half who became ill, the remaining players managed to raise their game, keeping Reading’s dangerous backs quiet while scoring four unanswered tries of their own in the process through Alfie (2), Sam and Tom C.
