The imminent arrival of our new Clubhouse has created a vacancy for the position of Clubhouse Manager - applications are invited.

With the advent of a new Clubhouse , the Committee have decided to offer a post, in a management position, to undertake a range of responsibilities for the efficient running of the club house, but possibly with a wider remit.

We have identified the following areas of management requirement and it is from this list that the successful applicant’s responsibilities will be drawn. 1 to 4 are definite and the rest are dependent on the skills of the successful applicant, the time that person can commit and the available funding.

1. Facility management, to include staff management, H & S, Key holder control etc.

2. Event management, to develop and administer community use lettings.

3. Banking control

4. First point of contact

The range of possible additions to those responsibilities include but are not restricted to :

5. PR, marketing.

6. Growing the membership

7. Bookkeeping and other financial matters

8. Club social activities

9. Rugby matters and administration

10. Relief bar work

11. Some of the ground work

Remuneration : While a budget for this position will inevitably be modest it is clearly recognised that it will not be voluntary either. The figure will depend on how many of the above duties are included and we would be offering a figure between £5k and £10K pa. depending on that duties list.

The position will of course develop with experience and at this stage we are not setting anything in concrete. An example could be that if we were to include the sale of advertising boards there could be a built in additional payment for each success or if bar work was more than an odd hour occasionally, that might be paid for on top of salary.

Timing: The Clubhouse should be completed by some time in April and we would therefore want to be interviewing applicants by early March at the latest. Applicants should not be put off applying, however, if that sounds like too soon a start date.

Interested parties to contact, The Hon Sec, Linda Boys at lindaboys@btconnect.com with an outline of the skills they could bring to the table and whether they feel suited to all or some of the above tasks.

Thank you.
